The Piggeries at Avington

There have not been residents in the Piggeries at Avington for several decades, but there is something very pleasing about the rich red browns of rusting corrugated iron, a series of repeating arches on the edge of a bluebell wood. Whilst I painted this I was aware of the acres of bluebells behind me which was what I had intended to paint, but instead I had become seduced by this quirky structure which was decorated with wonderful sappy greens, and only a smattering of blue bells…
