Winter Walk II

Another Wintry walk in Itchenstoke with our two lurchers, this time earlier in the day. The sky was apricot, some trees had retained their leaves and softened their silhouettes. The colours were cold, but some surprisingly intense: the red brick of the old bridge, a clear blue of reflected sky in the icy water, the straw- like tangle of the rush mounds on the river bank – some parts of which had escaped the snow altogether.
