Still Life with coloured Glasses

Glass is always a challenge to paint. Here I chose to put lots of old coloured glasses on a cloth and try to paint the light shining through them. What I hadn’t appreciated was that not only does the light and the shadows it casts seem to change particularly fast on transparent objects, but it creates even more colours as it does so, when one colour overlaps another. I found it an exciting challenge.
