Study of Gourds and Campsis

This was a study of the wonderfully rich tones and colours of my collection of autumn fruits and vegetables that I had bought in order to make a larger painting. Sometimes a closer study of a small area of what becomes a larger composition, can give a feeling of private intensity, as though one is being given the privilege of intimacy.
