Study of Quinces on a Tea Towel

A striped tea-towel can be a very useful thing in a still life, because the converging or diverging stripes can help describe a receding plane, the surface of a table, and the eye and brain will accept it as such. Here though, I just used it as bold and forceful bars of colour to hold an exciting dialogue with the bright acidic yellows of the quinces.
