Through the Window with Campsis and Ganet

Every year our enormous campsis attracts comments, even photographers, as they pass by the old wall it clambers over, between us and the street. I always intended to paint it, but hadn’t quite got round to doing so, as it blooms during a rich time of year for subject matter. Then we found this stunning Chinese studio pottery ganet in a tiny shop in Dartmoor- and I knew I had a found a foil to make a painting of both of them.
