This is a painting of my son Henry, aged nine, sitting on the wall in the wonderful gardens of the Generalife in Granada. He had been arguing with his brother and was hot and bothered, but as I watched him sitting there listening to the plush of water in the fountains, I could feel him take in the magic of where he was. In his straw hat he looked as timeless as the place itself.
